Project Overview
Exposure Displays, in partnership with Outform, was engaged to deliver and manage the PlayStation 5 (PS5) retail rollout program across Australia and New Zealand. Beginning in 2021 and continuing through 2025, the project focused on building a consistent, high-quality brand presence in major retailers, supporting the PS5’s launch, driving sales, and ensuring long-term in-store engagement.
Vision
Sony and Outform required a program that would:
- Deliver a seamless, premium retail experience for the highly anticipated PS5 console.
- Achieve brand consistency across multiple retailers in two countries.
- Support long-term sales with durable fixtures, while enabling updates for events and new campaigns.
- Provide ongoing service and maintenance to ensure all displays remained operational and visually aligned with the PlayStation brand.
Delivery

Rollout Scale: Installed 164 PS5 display units across Australia (126) and New Zealand (38).
- Australia: ACT (4), NSW (51), QLD (25), SA (9), VIC (31), WA (6).
- New Zealand: North Island (28), South Island (10).
- Installation & Deployment: Managed simultaneous rollouts across metro and regional sites, liaising with store managers to minimise disruption. Captured sign-offs, installation photos, and compliance reports at every site.
- Installer & Logistics Management: Coordinated installation teams across both countries. Managed cross-border freight and maintained live rollout schedules.
- In-Store Execution & Compliance: Installed freestanding and inline display units to brand standards, fully operational and interactive.
- Ongoing Maintenance & Support: Serviced 107 active displays, resolving technical issues, damage, and breakages. Conducted annual test-and-tag programs to ensure compliance and safety.
- Event Support: Supported Sony’s brand activations by re-deploying PS5 display units at major events, including the Australian Open, Hoops Feast, Red Bull Higher Ground, and other gaming showcases.
- Removal & Salvage: Commenced in 2025 — 47 removals in Australia and 10 in New Zealand to date. Salvaged and stored components for reuse in future activations or maintenance.

- National & Regional Reach: Delivered PS5 displays to leading retailers including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Big W, Noel Leeming, The Warehouse, and Mighty Ape.
- Launch Success: Ensured Sony’s flagship console had a consistent and premium retail presence at launch.
