Project Overview

Promovans designed and delivered a purpose-built community engagement trailer for Transport for NSW (TfNSW), supporting face-to-face consultation across metropolitan, regional, and remote communities. The trailer functions as a mobile information hub—blending approachable public-facing spaces with secure staff work areas, digital engagement tools, and rapid deployment features. This enabled TfNSW teams to meet people where they are, lowering barriers to participation.

Vision

TfNSW needed a platform that would:

  • Bring consultation to communities, including remote and regional locations.
  • Provide a welcoming, approachable environment suitable for both casual chats and private discussions.
  • Support all-weather operation across diverse NSW climates.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusion, making every visitor feel comfortable and safe.
  • Integrate digital tools to gather feedback securely and efficiently.
  • Be robust and serviceable for long-term touring and ongoing maintenance.

Delivery

  • Human-Centred Design: Built with a low-rise entry, DDA-compliant ramp, wide doors, and flush thresholds for accessibility.
  • Modular Zones: Created consultation spaces including an exterior awning counter, internal bench seating, and a semi-private meeting nook.
  • Rapid Deployment: Integrated stabilising legs, levelling system, and colour-coded latches allowing a two-person team to deploy quickly and safely.
  • All-Weather Package: Added wind-rated awning, HVAC, non-slip decking, and durable finishes for reliable operation year-round.
  • Power & Connectivity: Equipped with hybrid power options (shore power, generator, and battery/inverter systems) plus roof-mounted comms hardware for Wi-Fi and tablets.
  • Digital Engagement: Installed a large presentation screen, tablet kiosks for surveys, and secure storage for devices and documents.
  • Branding & Longevity: Applied high-impact livery with long-life wraps and interchangeable magnetic panels for program flexibility.

Impact

  • Community Ready: Enabled TfNSW teams to activate consultation sites in minutes—whether at markets, stations, park-and-ride hubs, or regional shows.
  • Inclusive by Design: Improved accessibility for all community members, leading to stronger conversations and higher participation.
  • Operational Resilience: Delivered a durable, low-stress platform that staff could rely on across varied environments.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintained a strong, professional TfNSW presence while allowing flexible program messaging.
